The grey reality.

Always optimistic and colorful… but, unfortunately, sometimes those worse days come. When I started raising money for Antosia’s surgery, I had no idea there were so many barriers and obstacles. So many legal loopholes that I hadn’t even thought of before.

• To legally raise funds for a child’s treatment, you must belong to a Foundation. Only by belonging to a foundation is it possible to collect the 1% tax donation. This is understandable to us. Many people could cheat and raise money for a proverbial “motorcycle”. So, we joined a Foundation.
• Many people ask us how much of that actually goes to the child. We want everything to go to her. And it does. Antosia has her own sub-account at the “Zdążyć z Pomocą” Foundation. We, as parents, can log into it just like a bank account and check every single donation. If anyone has doubts about whether their donation went entirely to Antosia, they can always write to us. We are able to verify it.
• We do not have direct access to the money accumulated in the Foundation’s sub-account. We cannot spend it on our own pleasures, or even on Antosia’s pleasures. The Foundation can reimburse us for costs based on invoices and bills for Antosia’s treatment. WE ARE RAISING FUNDS FOR SURGERIES AND SUBSEQUENT REHABILITATION!
• We tried to set up a charity SMS line for Antosia. However, this is impossible… To be assigned a charity SMS number, specific conditions must be met:
  • “the campaign must have the support of at least one national television station (we require a copy of a letter from the TV station confirming their involvement and a detailed media plan), and this cannot be a single broadcast, but regular coverage throughout the entire duration of the campaign. All other methods of promotion are only supplementary. Our experience shows that only a national television campaign gives hope of raising an amount that can realistically help.
  • funds from the campaign can only be allocated to a noble cause (we require a detailed description of the campaign) that would support a wide range of beneficiaries across Poland and solve a serious social problem; we cannot assign a number to a specific individual. Through this number, we want to help people affected by fate, e.g., during natural disasters, or Foundations that save human life or health.”

Even though we want to… sometimes certain ideas fall through… But I hope we will have enough of them to succeed, so that Antosia can walk, maybe even run…

We already have Antosia’s posters in Polish, English, and German. If anyone would like to hang them up in institutions, schools, or businesses, we would be very grateful. We can deliver them or send them by mail.
