The halfway point of the treatment.

Yesterday we had follow up appointment with dr. Paley. It was one of more important appointment. We have finished lengthening at all. Although Antosia’s tibias are shorter than other children have, what is more important to us, even the most important, they are both equal and straight. Finally Antosia took a fancy to exam room, dr. Paley and his physical assistants. That is the end of good news.

Unluckily the right bone does not heal very well. If it didn’t improve in 4 weeks Antosia would need additional surgery. She would have transplantation a piece of pelvis to right tibia. We also need to rotate the foot position by about 10 degrees because it is in wrong position relative to the patella.

We hope the healing of the bone is going to accelerate and additional surgery won’t be needed.
