Grim reality.

Always optimistic and colorful… yet, unfortunately, sometimes the worse days come. When we started collecting money for Antosia’s surgery, I had no idea that there are so many obstacles and difficulties.

Many snags that I have never even thought about before.

• One has to be a ward of a Foundation to collect money legally. Only by being a member of the foundation one can gather 1% of people’s taxes. That’s understandable. Many people could cheat and collect money for a motorbike. So, we’re in a Foundation
• Many people ask us then how much of the donations goes directly to the child. We care for everything to get to Antosia. And it is so. Antosia has a subaccount in “Zdążyć z Pomocą” Foundation. We, the parents, can log into the account the same way one logs into a bank and check every donation. If someone has doubts if his donation reached Antosia in full ammount, one can always write us. We are able to check it.
• We do not have direct access to the money collected on Foundation’s subaccount. We cannot spend it on our entertainment, even on Antosia’s entertainment. Foundation, basing on invoices and bills for Antosia’s treatment can refund us the expenses WE COLLECT MONEY FOR SURGERY AND FURTHER REHABILITATION!
• We tried to set up sms service for Antosia. It is, however, impossible… To get a charity SMS number, there are several conditions to reach:
  • „Campaign must have support of at least one nationwide television (we demand a copy of the paper from the television that confirms the support and detailed media plan) and it cannot be one audition, but regular advert during whole time of the cammpaign. Any other means of advertising are just complementary. Our experience shows that only nationwide tv campaign gives hope to collect an ammount that can truly help.
  • Resources from the campaign can only be donated to charity (we demand detailed campaign description), that supports vast group of beneficiaries in the whole country and solves serious social problem, we cannot give a number to particular person. Through the number, we want to help people affected by fate, for example during natural disasters or Foundations that save human life and health.”

Even though we want… sometimes some ideas fizzle out… I hope, however, that we will have enough of them for Antosia to walk, maybe even run…

We already have Antosia’s posters in Polish, English and German. If someone would like to placard them around in institutions, schools, companies, we would really appreciate it. We can deliver them or send by mail.
