I have always known that having a good health obligates me to help others. The sole possibility should force everyone to action. That’s why I have always been impressed and have always been given a lot of satisfaction from water rescue, then from blood donation and many more, smaller forms of helping others as well. Because of that a few years ago I registered to bone marrow donors database, hoping that maybe someone someday would need that small part of me.
Now, opportunity has turned up. Last week DKMS Foundation contacted me about this issue. Tomorrow my blood sample with go to laboratory for final compliance confirmation. the whole procedure can last up to three months, so keep Your fingers crossed so that everything is allright.
It may seem to be naive, maybe it even is naive, but I’ve always believed that good returns to us. I wish that instead of me, it returned to Antosia. I hope that she will encounter people who will help her in a tough battle with fibular hemimelia, that the lack of fibulas and other lower-limbs deformations will not imply only negative emotions in her life, that she will find friends along her way, who will love her like we do.
